Summer Splash Sessions | Tampa Lifestyle Photographer

Summer is the perfect season to enjoy spending time with your family, whether it be lazy days by the pool or picnicking at the beach. Because schedules are more relaxed this time of year, it can also be the perfect time to schedule a photography session with your family. While the rain we’ve been having for the past week is abnormal for the Sunshine State, we all know that the sun will be shining again any day now and temperatures will be shooting back into the 90’s. With that said, no one (including the photographer) enjoys a photography session full of sweat, mosquitoes and heat exhaustion! Why not try something new??

For the first time, Kim Lloyd Photography is offering Summer Splash Sessions! These sessions are one hour long and capture your family playing, splashing, relaxing, laughing and enjoying the long summer days, without the stress of keeping the kids cool and happy during your session. Because, honestly, what could be more fun than a photography session underwater?

Sessions can be photographed in the comfort of your own backyard but can also be modified to fit almost any aquatic location. I have found that sprinklers and slip-n-slides are also a great way to keep everyone cool during a photography session, if the pool isn’t your thing. Sessions are $225 and each session includes a pre-session consultation (to discuss details and wardrobe), a one-hour session with the photographer, custom editing of 10-12 images (which are presented to you in an online gallery) and your choice of one package.  Package 1 includes 3 digital files (jpegs) with a print release as well as 3 mini-albums (measuring 3×3 inches). Package 2 includes 7 digital files with a print release. You choose the package that best fits your needs!

If you’ve been looking for something new to try this summer, you’ve found it! Call me today for more details to find out how you can capture memories of your family without melting in the Florida heat!

Lifestyle Mini-Session Lowdown | Tampa Lifestyle Photographer

Have you ever been to a photography studio to have family portraits taken? For many (my family included), it can feel forced and unnatural. For the longest time, photography studios were your only choice if you wanted professional images of your family together. Thankfully, over the years, studios have evolved, and out of that, came a desire for images that weren’t perfectly posed. Images where everyone isn’t looking at the camera, but rather, at each other. Images where everyone is laughing, where every hair isn’t in place, where genuine smiles replace the ‘fake’ grin that your four-year-old so often demonstrates in pictures. THIS is my passion!! Creating these images for YOU!!

I applaud any family that has portraits taken as I believe that this is a very important piece of family history and should be captured. But I knew from the beginning that studio portraiture would not be a good fit for me. I needed to create something more than just an image of what someone looked like….I wanted my clients to feel something when they looked at my images of their family. And that is what I strive for in every session…to capture your family, just as they are right now. I want to create pictures that you will look back on years from now and be reminded of how special that stage of your child’s life was.

Lifestyle Mini-Sessions are offered year-round and at many different locations throughout the Tampa area (including your house, if that’s what you want). Sessions are relaxed and fun…think of it as a playdate with your family! I encourage families to bring things to the session that they enjoy doing together and have captured families climbing trees, reading a child’s favorite story, collecting bugs and having piggy-back races. And all of it captured for you to look back on in later years.

Lifestyle Mini-Sessions are not a perfect fit for everyone, but if you feel like it might be your style, I would love to talk with you! Hope to see you soon!

2016 Holiday Mini-Sessions | Tampa Lifestyle Photographer

With Fall right around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about the upcoming holiday season. For some, it means pumpkin-spiced everything and cooler weather (maybe??). For me, it reminds me that it’s time to schedule annual family pictures for my family (and for yours too!).

Having photographs taken of your family is so important! Too often, one parent is behind the lens while the other hangs with the kids for the photo. Family photographs should have the ENTIRE family in them! As an added benefit, you are spending time with your loved ones, while are creating memories, memories that will be captured for you to look back on when your children have grown. This is my passion and I feel so blessed to be given this opportunity to do this for other families!!

These sessions are a little different from the Lifestyle Mini-Sessions I offer year-round. Holiday Mini-Sessions are only 30 minutes long, which is perfect if you only need a few images for your holiday card or for a gift for Grandma. This session includes 5 digital files (and an online gallery of 7-10 images for you to choose from) as well as a print release, so you can print as many of your images as many times as you’d like. Did I mention that photographs make great gifts??

If you haven’t had updated family portraits in a while, it’s time!

There is limited availability for these sessions so if you think you might want one, call or email me today so we can chat! Can’t wait to see you!

down2earth | Tampa Lifestyle Photographer

I’m back!! I took the summer off to spend time with my two sweet little girls (and hubs, when he wasn’t working). We did a little traveling, mostly to visit family in Maine and Ohio (pictures to come soon, once I’ve had a chance to wade through the hundreds of images I have) and then spent a few weeks (weeks!!!) hunkered down in our home while most of central Florida flooded due to unusually high volume of rain. It was like a three-week tropical storm!

With the girls back in school, I am so excited to be able to get back into the office and start working again (because let’s face it, I get absolutely nothing done when I’m home with them…and that’s okay with me). While on my summer break, I thought a lot about how many wonderful small business owners I am privileged to know! Being a small business owner myself, I know how much time, dedication and passion these people have put into turning their dream into a reality. Over the next few months, I will be highlighting small local businesses in the Tampa area, in the hopes that you will find them as awesome as I do. I am thrilled to be able to introduce you to my first blog post for Small Business Shout-Out featuring down2earth!

Kristin Williams started down2earth in 2009 as a way to make purchasing earth-friendly products easy. Down2earth specializes in products that are sustainable, reusable, repurposed or organic and includes items for the entire family. Her collection of organic cotton baby wear includes onesies from Babysoy and  burp cloths and swaddle blankets from Milkbarn and are just about the cutest (and softest) things ever! She also carries an assortment of baby accessories, including organic plush baby toys and silicone teething necklaces, to name a few. For moms looking for an alternative to traditional clothing and toy options, down2earth has a beautiful array of organic products for your little one.

While you’re there, you may just want to pick up a few things for yourself! In addition to her collection of beautiful baby items, she also carries things for mom (and the rest of the family) that are useful on a daily basis. One of my favorites is the ChicoBag, a reusable shopping bag that is compact enough to fit in your purse, eliminating the need for plastic bags when you are shopping. She also carries snack-sized versions as well, which are reusable and work great for kids’ lunches! I also love her reusable hand towels…I keep mine in my purse for when my children are with me to eliminate the need for the 10 paper towels that they feel are necessary to dry their hands.

Last, but certainly not least, are my favorite products of hers…the Bungalow 360 bags! I have several different designs and styles, including the backpack, wallet, coin purse and messenger bag. All are adorable and made with the highest quality materials. I LOVE THESE BAGS!! And I get compliments on them everywhere I go. My girls even have their own kid-sized backpacks which allow them to carry their own personal items when we go out.

Down2earth is an amazing company, run by an amazing woman! Kristin cares passionately about taking care of our planet and has products to help you too!!  For those of you in the Tampa area, down2earth participates in many of the local markets, including the Saturday morning markets in downtown Lakeland and Sunday morning markets in Hyde Park and Seminole Heights. Check here to find out where down2earth will be each weekend. This weekend, you can find Kristin at the downtown Lakeland market on Saturday and the Hyde Park market on Sunday. As a ‘thank-you’ to all fans of Kim Lloyd Photography, Kristin is offering 10% off of your order so take some time this weekend to visit one of her markets and find something awesome for yourself (and your kiddos). The planet will thank you!
